Walking

  1. Practice good posture as you walk.
    1. Stand up straight. Leaning forward or backward as you walk can put strain on your back.
    2. Keep your head up and your eyes forward.
    3. Shrug your shoulders every once in a while and then relax them. This will remind you not to tense your shoulders as you walk.
  2. Start out slowly. Choose an area that's level and clear of things that might make you trip.
  3. Over time, increase how far and how long you walk.

If it hurts to walk or doesn't feel right, talk to your doctor.
